I was in town yesterday and came across a ‘Climate Emergency’ protest in George Square. A group of people were trying to emphasise their point by painting their footsteps in blue on the streets.
I was struck with the irony of the environmental impact of the blue paint (water soluble I was told), the blue plastic overshoes being issued, to be disposed of later and the 2 teams of council workers with powered pressure cleaners cleaning up after them.
