During my short time in Copenhagen, I managed to see and photograph some very good street art, on one of my sightseeing trips, I stopped off at Christiania Freetown where there was plenty to see, I even got a chance to catch up with Balstroem, one of the artists who painted at this year’s Yardworks, who has a vast amount of work there. It was really nice to have a blether with him and his mate.
On my final day, I discovered a collection of art laid out in a style similar to Yardworks, this time almost in the city centre. I later discovered it was part of a project called “Meeting of Styles”, an international network of graffiti artists and supporters, which sponsors graffiti mural creation events in over sixteen countries to try to promote and legitimise the art form, some of the pieces I saw were very good indeed.
