Glasgow street artist Stephen Machin, aka Mack Colourst formerly CROZE (Bio to Follow)
Barrhead 2026

This mural, designed by Mack Colours, centres around a phoenix and stands as a symbol of “the strength, resilience and pride of the community.”
Created with the input of residents of all ages, the artwork was celebrated at a launch event attended by local residents as well as Tom Arthur MSP, Blair McDougall MP and Carolyn Sawers, CEO of the Corra Foundation.
The event even saw Tom Arthur ring the historic ‘Dunterlie Bell’ – a family heirloom used by his great-grandfather during rent strikes to warn neighbours of approaching bailiffs.

Recent Works

ShawbRIDGE ARCADE
This is a series of murals of exotic birds, and some other animals painted on the walls of the almost derelict Shawbridge Shopping Arcade, mainly on Ashtree and Greenview Streets in the Pollockshaws area of Glasgow. These images were added in late March 2022, there are also some nice pieces by Mack Colour’s long-time collaborator Frodrik, also in the location is a panel by Mul, a street artist from Newcastle who was on a visit to the city, there are also some by other local artists, (see The Bird Man of Shawlands post in my blog for more information on the location)

ShawLANDS ART TRAIL
April of 2021 saw the commencement of The Shawlands Art Trail, This project, organised by My Shawlands, was been assisted by Gaz Mac from SWG3’s Yardworks Project, and brought many of Glasgow’s talented street artists to the southside to add some much-needed colour to the area, and as expected Mack Colours was there to add some of his birds of paradise.
