After picking up a new camera last year I took a trip to Edinburgh to try it out, my quest for street art in the city centre proved fruitless, so I headed down to Leith to photograph the offerings there. I started off in Dalmeny Street, where I had read that there was an interesting piece by Fife-based artist Kirsty Whiten, by the time I got to see it, much of it was gone, however while in Dalmeny Street I popped into the Out of the Blue Drill Hall Cafe for a coffee and was surprised to find a mural by Guido Van Helton of J. McCulloch, a survivor of the 1915 Gretna rail disaster. I then toured the area along Leith Walk taking photographs of the art I could find, there was quite a bit in a small area and some really good pieces of shutter art which can be seen below.
