The Doors

The Painted Doors Project, launched in 2016 as part of Aberdeen Inspired’s Summer of Art project seen local artists transforming 12 of the city’s doorways into works of art.  The work was focused on a number of sites including The Green, Langstane Place and Windmill Brae.  As the project was so popular it was carried on and there are now a great deal more to be seen.

I didn’t manage to find them all, but I have posted photographs of the ones I did see. I was lucky enough to talk to Shelagh Swanson about the first door to be painted,  The Mermaid and the Princess on Windmill Brae right through to the door I spotted getting painted on Back Wynd by Tamara Alves on Sunday.
